Queer as Funk

The Situation

Queer as Funk wanted to build a brand to solidify their reputation as Vancouver’s best cover band for live events. Early on, it became evident that staying true to their soulful roots while providing an authentic reflection of the Queer As Funk live show experience would be paramount. The band already had a large following, and any brand-building efforts needed to connect with their established fan base. 


The Process

We started the brand-building process by developing a questionnaire and gathering data. This information gave our team the raw material and building blocks to craft authentic brand positioning and elements that would resonate with music lovers on the West Coast. 

To bring the brand story to life, Good Digital partner photographer Jamie Poh created a campaign for the Queer As Funk 10-year anniversary show during Pride 2023.


The Results

The impactful photo shoot captured the vibrance and essence of the musicians with portraits that are fun-loving yet meaningful. Based on the research, Good also provided the band with a new logo design that resonates with the musicians and their fan base.
